SSC CHSL Exam 2019 Skill Test/ Typing Test Date Released

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will conduct the skill test of Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination (CHSL) 2019 on 03-11-2021 across the country. Skill Test/ Typing Test for the qualified candidates will be conducted on computers provided by the Commission or its authorized agency. Skill Test/ Typing Test will be conducted as per the following scheme:-

Skill Test for Data Entry Operator:-
(a) For Date entry Operator:- Data Entry Speed of 8,000 (eight thousand) Key Depressions per hour on Computer. The Speed of 8000 key depressions per hour on the computer will be adjudged on the basis of the correct entry of words/ key depressions as per the given passage. The duration of the Test will be 15 minutes and printed matter in English containing about 2000-2200 key-depressions would be given to each candidate who would enter the same in the Computer.

(b) For the post of Data Entry Operator Grade-A in the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG):- The speed of 15000 key depressions per hour on the Computer will be adjudged on the basis of the correct entry of words/ key depressions as per the given passage. The duration of the Test will be 15 minutes and printed matter in English containing about 3700-4000 key depressions would be given to each candidate who would enter the same in the Computer.

Typing Test for LDC/ JSA and Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant:-
(i) The medium of Typing Test will be Hindi or English.
(ii) Candidates opting for English medium should have a typing speed of 35 words per minute (w.p.m.) and those opting for Hindi medium should have a typing speed of 30 words per minute (w.p.m.).
(iii) The speed will be adjudged on the accuracy of typing on the Computer of a given text passage in 10 minutes.
(iv) For Typing Test, a master text passage of about 1750 key depression in English and 1500 words in Hindi will be displayed on the screen.
(v) Candidates can only type the equivalent number of words given in the master text passage.
(vi) After typing a given number of words in the master text passage the space bar will not allow further typing of additional words.
(vii) In case of candidates type additional words/wrong words, thereby exhausting the allowed number of words before completing the master text, then they may use arrow keys/backspace keys to correct wrongly typed words or remove additional typed words before proceeding to complete the master text.
