Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the Skill Test schedule of Stenographers Grade-C and D Examination, 2019. Based on the marks scored in the computer-based exam, candidates are selected for the skill test. Skill Tests will be conducted on October 21 and 22.
Skill Test in Stenography:- The candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi (as opted by the candidates in the online Application Form) at the speed of 100 words per minute (w.p.m). The matter will have to be transcribed on a computer. The Skill Test will be held at the Commission Regional/ Sub Regional Offices or at other Centre(s) as may be decided by the Commission.
Important Notes:-
(i) The printout of the typed text will not be taken after the Stenography Skill Test (Transcription).
(ii) Candidates for English Transcription (Typing) are advised to choose English (US) as their Keyboard Layout option.
(iii) Candidates for Hindi Transcription (Typing) are advised to choose Hindi Inscript/ Hindi Krutidev/ Hindi Remington CBI/ Hindi Remington GAIL as their Keyboard Layout option.
(iv) VH Candidates who will bring their BRAILLE Typewriter will be allotted an isolated Seat to avoid any disturbance to other candidates.
(v) Candidates will bring their own Pen / Pencil / Sharpener / Eraser for the test.
(vi) Compensatory Time to eligible candidates will only be permissible during Transcription (Typing), there will not be any compensatory Time during the Shorthand Dictation.
