Here is a good news for the candidates who have applied for the RRB ALP and Technician Recruitment 2018. Railway Recruitment Board may increase the number of vacancies for Assistant Loco Pilots and Technicians. The first stage Computer-Based Test for recruitment of ALP and Technicians will begin on August 9, 2018.
According to the official notification, post wise details of enhanced vacancies will be advised on the official websites of RRBs in due course.

RRBs have notified 26,502 vacancies for the posts of ALP and Technicians in CEN 01/2018. These vacancies are likely to be increased to about 60,000 vacancies. Candidates should keep visiting the official websites of RRBs regularly for updates.
Ministry of Railways also notified that it may increase the number of vacancies for ALP and Technicians.

Earlier, the total number of vacancies was 90,000 including the vacancies advertised in both notifications CEN 01/2018 and CEN 02/2018 and more than 25 million had applied for the jobs.
In accordance with the data released by Ministry of Railways, for a single seat, one candidate shall have to compete with 279 other candidates. With the increase in the vacancy, the competition for one seat will decrease obviously.
