CBSE CTET 2018: Online Registration Starts From August 1

The online registration for Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) starts from today by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). In an official notification, the board has mentioned that the registration begins on 1st August 2018 and will close on 27th August 2018.

The registration for CTET 2018 was supposed to begin on 22nd June 2018, but was delayed due to administrative reasons. A public notification had said that, “The next date will be notified shortly. All the aspiring candidates may watch the CTET Website for the date”.

The scores of CTET shall apply to schools of the Central Government such as KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan Schools etc. and schools under the administrative control of UT’s of Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and NCT of Delhi. It may also apply to the unaided private schools who may exercise the option of considering the CTET.

The exam will be conducted on 16th September 2018, following the schedule given below:-

  • Paper II:- 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Paper I:- 02:00 PM to 04:30 PM

The person who scores 60% or above marks will be considered passed in the TET and eligible for appointment as a teacher for class 1st to 8th. There is special reservation and relaxation in marks for SC/ST/OBC and differently abled category.

Prakash Javadekar, Human Resource Development Minister, has directed CBSE to continue conducting the CTET in the 20 Indian languages as earlier. The directive by the minister came following criticism of CBSE’s decision to remove 17 languages including Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Gujarati and Bengali from the list of options for CTET.
