National Testing Agency will begin the registration of UGC NET Exam 2018 from next week. NTA will now conduct NET Exams from December 2018 onwards on the behalf of UGC. Earlier the National Eligibility Test (NET) was conducted by CBSE. In July 2018, Prakash Javedkar, Human Resource and Development Minister, had announced that the NET Examinations will be held online in December.
According to the exam schedule released then, the online registration for NTA NET Exam 2018 will begin from 1st September 2018. The exam will be held from December 2 to December 16 in two shifts, every Saturday-Sunday. The result will be declared in the last week of January 2019.

However, the official notification for NTA UGC NET 2018 has not been released yet. But the agency has briefed about the exam process and the eligibility. Aspirants can obtain necessary information from NTA UGC NET December 2018 Page.
NET is conducted for Assistant Professor post and Junior Research Fellowship only in Humanities and Commerce subjects. For Assistant Professor post and JRF in science subjects, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) conducts the exam.

The HRD Ministry had said in an official statement that NTA will establish a network of test practice centers for students of rural areas to familiarize themselves with the new online examination mode. Schools/ engineering colleges with computer centers would be identified and kept open on Saturday/ Sunday starting from 3rd week of August. Any student can use the facility free of charge.
