Tripura High Court was established on 23rd March 2013, after making suitable amendments in the Constitution of India and North-Eastern Areas (Re-organization) Act, 1971. After the Tripura becoming the full-fledged state, the High Court of Assam and Nagaland was abolished and a common High Court came to be established for the five states namely Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur and Tripura and two UTs namely Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh. Tripura got its Bench of the common High Court on 24th January 1972.
