Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board has recently released a notification for UP TET 2018 or Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test 2018. UPTET is conducted for the recruitment of primary and upper primary level teachers in the schools of Uttar Pradesh. On the basis of this test, aspiring candidates can become eligible for teaching jobs in the state at Primary (Class I to V) and Upper Primary (Class VI to VIII) level.

UPTET 2018 Eligibility Criteria, Exam Pattern and Syllabus

Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board conducts two papers namely, Paper I and Paper II. Candidates who wish to teach Class I to V need to appear for Paper I whereas, others who wish to teach Class VI to VIII need to appear for Paper II.
UPTET 2018 Eligibility Criteria for Primary Teachers (Class I to V)
Should have secured Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognised university or college affiliated to UGC |
Should have passed the National Teacher Education Parishad from recognised educational institution. |
Should have done BTCT from the institute recognised by the National Teacher Education Council Uttar Pradesh. |
Should have completed the two-year Diploma in the education from the Indian Rehabilitation Parishad. |
Should have cleared Graduation in BTech from a recognised University which is affiliated to UGC or Uttar Pradesh Rashtriya Teacher Education Office. |
Graduates from the armed force who have completed the final year of 4-year primary education with minimum 50% aggregate marks are also eligible for the Teacher Eligibility Test for Class I-V. |
Should have graduated from the University or college affiliated to UGC and completed the training in BTC Urdu from Uttar Pradesh. |
UPTET 2018 Eligibility Criteria for Upper Primary Teachers (Class VI to VIII)
Should have scored minimum of 50% marks in the intermediate examination. |
Should have completed their graduation or candidates who are currently studying in the second year of BTC in an institute affiliated to NCTE are also eligible to apply. |
Should have completed their graduation/ post-graduation with minimum of 50% marks or should have passed or are currently studying in 2nd year of BEd in an institute affiliated to NCTE. |
Should have completed their graduation/ post-graduation with minimum of 50% marks or should have passed or are currently studying in 2nd year of LT in an institute affiliated to NCTE. |
Should have completed their graduation/ post-graduation with minimum of 50% marks or should have passed or are currently studying in 2nd year of BEd (specialisation) in an institute affiliated to RCI. |
Should have secured 50% marks in intermediate and those candidates who are currently studying in the final year or have passed BEd are also eligible to apply. |
Candidates who are currently studying in the final year or have passed BScEd/ BElED are also eligible to apply. |
UPTET 2018 Exam Pattern
Candidates who wish to teach Class I to V need to appear for Paper I whereas, others who wish to teach Class VI to VIII need to appear for Paper II. The pattern for both the papers is more or less similar. The sections and their difficulty level vary as per the paper chosen. Both exams are pen and paper based. Good thing is for the candidates is that there is no negative marking and multiple choice questions are asked. Candidates can attempt paper in English or Hindi. Candidates are awarded one mark for each question answered correctly by them.
