UPSC CAPF (ACs) Exam 2022 Notification Out – The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued the notification of the Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination 2022 for the recruitment of Assistant Commandants (Group A). The detailed Notification PDF has been released on 20th April 2022 on the official website. The Commission conducts the Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination for recruitment of Assistant Commandants (Group A) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) viz. Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

UPSC CAPF (ACs) Exam Pattern 2022

Before starting preparation for the exam, you must understand and familiarize yourself with the latest UPSC CAPF (ACs) Exam pattern and syllabus. The Commission will conduct the exam in three stages namely Written Exam, PST/ PET & Medical Standards Tests and Interview/ Personality Test. The detailed exam pattern is given below:-

Stage-I: Written Exam

The Written Exam will comprise two papers. Paper-I will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:00 Noon and Paper-II will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will be a negative marking of 0.33 marks for each wrong answer. The detailed exam pattern is given below:-

The questions in Paper-I will be of Objective (Multiple Answers) Type in which the questions will be set in English as well as Hindi. In Paper-II candidates will be allowed the option of writing the Essay Component in English or Hindi, but the medium of Precis Writing, Comprehension Components and other communications/ language skills will be English only.

There will be minimum qualifying marks separately in each Paper as may be fixed by the Commission in their discretion. Paper-I will be evaluated first and evaluation of Paper-II will be done only of those candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I.

Stage-II: PST/PET and Medical Standards Tests

Candidates who are declared qualified in the written examination will be summoned for Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests. Those candidates who meet the prescribed Physical Standards will be put through the Physical Efficiency Tests as indicated below:

Physical Standards:
(a) Height: (i) Men:- 165 cm (ii) Women:- 157 cm
(b) Chest: Men:- 81 cm (+5 cm expansion)

Physical Efficiency Test:
(a) 100 Meters Race: (i) Male:- In 16 seconds (ii) Female:- In 18 seconds
(b) 800 Meters Race: (i) Male:- In 3 minutes 45 seconds (ii) Female:- In 4 minutes 45 seconds
(c) Long Jump: (i) Male:- 3.5 meters (3 chances) (ii) Female:- 3.0 meters (3 chances)
(d) Shot Put (7.26 Kgs.):- 4.5 meters

The Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests will be conducted under the supervision of a Nodal Authority to be appointed by the Ministry of Home Affairs. These tests will be conducted at various centres to be notified after the results of the written examination.

Stage-III: Interview/Personality Test

Candidates who are declared qualified in the Medical Standards Tests will be called for an Interview/Personality Test to be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. The Interview/ Personality Test will carry 150 Marks. Candidates who are short-listed for the Interview/ Personality Test, including those shortlisted for Interview/ Personality Test provisionally will be issued a Detailed Application Form (DAF) in which among other things, they will be required to indicate their preference of Forces.

The final merit list will be drawn on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the Written Examination and Interview/ Personality Test.

General ScienceThe questions will be set to test general awareness, scientific temper, comprehension and appreciation of scientific phenomena of everyday observation including new areas of importance like Information Technology, Biotechnology, Environmental Science.
Current Events of National and International ImportanceThe questions will test the candidate’s awareness of current events of national and international importance in the broad areas of culture, music, arts, literature, sports, governance, societal and developmental issues, industry, business, globalisation, and interplay among nations.
Indian Polity and EconomyThe questions shall aim to test candidates’ knowledge of the Country’s political system and the Constitution of India, social systems and public administration, economic development in India, regional and international security issues and human rights including its indicators.
History of IndiaThe questions will broadly cover the subject in its social, economic and political aspects. This shall also include the areas of growth of nationalism and freedom movement.
Indian and World GeographyThe questions shall cover the physical, social and economic aspects of geography pertaining to India and the World.
Paper-II (General Studies, Essay and Comprehension)
Part-AEssay questions are to be answered in the long narrative form either in Hindi or English totalling 80 Marks. The indicative topics are modern Indian history especially of the freedom struggle, geography, polity and economy, knowledge of security and human rights issues, and analytical ability.
Part-BComprehension, précis writing, other communications/language skills – to be attempted in English only (Marks 120) – The topics are Comprehension passages, précis writing, developing counter arguments, simple grammar and other aspects of language testing.

UPSC CAPF (ACs) Admit Card 202

Appearing candidates can download the admit card for the UPSC CAPF (ACs) 2022 through the UPSC Admit Cards Page by entering their registration id/ roll number and date of birth. The commission will release admit cards for the exam in mid-January.
