SSC Examination – SSC Recruitment – SSC Notification

Staff Selection Commission, earlier known as the Subordinate Services Commission, recruits candidates for various Government of India departments and for its subordinate offices. The commission provides more than 75% of government jobs in India. The SSC headquarters is located at New Delhi and seven Regional Offices are in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Allahabad, Guwahati, Bangalore, Kolkata. In addition, two sub-regional offices are at Raipur and Chandigarh. These offices are set up for conducting exams smoothly.

The primary function of the commission is to conduct exams and interviews for the recruitment of Group “B”, non-technical Group “C” and Group “D” posts for various Government of India Ministries and Departments. The SSC conducts recruitment only for the central govt. Job Opportunities through SSC Exam – Eligibility Criteria

SSC CGL Exam:- SSC conducts Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam for filling up Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ posts such as Assistant Audit Officer, Assistant Accounts Officer, Inspector, Accountant, Auditor and many others in various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations of the Govt. of India.

  • Educational Qualification:- The educational qualification required for this exam is a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university. CA/ CS/ M.Com/ MBS/ MBA/ MBE will be preferred for some posts such as Assistant Audit Officer, Assistant Accounts Officer, and Junior Statistical Officer.
  • Age Limit:- Candidates having age between 18-32 years are eligible to apply for the exam. Age relaxation will be given to the candidates as per the government rules.

SSC CHSL Exam:- For the recruitment to the posts of Lower Division Clerk/ Junior Secretarial Assistant, Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant, Data Entry Operator and Data Entry Operator Grade A in Government Departments, SSC conducts Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) Exam.

  • Educational Qualification:- The minimum educational qualification required for the SSC CHSL Exam is 12th or equivalent from a recognized board or university. For the post of Data Entry Operator in the Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG), 12th in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject is required.
  • Age Limit:- Candidates having age between 18-27 years are eligible to apply for the exam. Age relaxation will be given to the candidates as per the government rules.

SSC Steno Exam:- For the recruitment to the posts of Stenographer Grade’C’ (Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted) and Stenographer Grade ‘D’ (Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted) in Ministries/ Departments of Central Government, SSC conducts Stenographers (Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’)Exam.

  • Educational Qualification:- The educational qualification required for this exam is 12th from a recognized board or university.
  • Age Limit:- Candidates having age between 18-27 years are eligible to apply for the exam. Age relaxation will be given to the candidates as per the government rules.

SSC JE Exam:- For the recruitment of Junior Engineers, Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted posts in Government Organizations, SSC conducts Junior Engineer Exam.

  • Educational Qualification:- Candidates must have a Diploma or Degree in Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering to apply for SSC Junior Engineer Exam.
  • Age Limit:- Candidates having age between 18-32 years are eligible to apply for the exam. Age relaxation will be given to the candidates as per the government rules.

SSC GD Constable Exam:- For recruitment to the posts of Constable in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Secretariat Security Force (SSF) and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles, SSC Conducts Constables (GD) and Rifleman (GD) Exam.

  • Educational Qualification:- To apply for SSC Constable GD Exam, candidates must be Matriculation or 10th class pass from a recognized Board.
  • Age Limit:- Candidates having age between 18-23 years are eligible to apply for the exam. Age relaxation will be given to the candidates as per the government rules.

SSC MTS Exam:- SSC conducts Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) Exam for the recruitment to the posts of Multi Tasking Staff, a Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post in various Central Government Ministries/ Departments/ Offices in different States and Union Territories.

  • Educational Qualification:- To apply for SSC MTS Exam, candidates must have passed the Matriculation Examination or equivalent from a recognized board.
  • Age Limit:- Candidates having age between 18-25 years are eligible to apply for the exam. Age relaxation will be given to the candidates as per the government rules

SSC Online – SSC Apply Online – SSC Online NIC

All the eligible candidates can apply for the above mentioned SSC Exams through the SSC Online Portal. Before applying, candidates must ensure their eligibility and follow the instructions carefully. After ensuring eligibility, candidates should fill out the Registration Form. Candidates will be required to upload a scanned photograph and signature as per the specifications are given in the respective advertisement. Registration number and password will be generated on candidates’ given email ids and mobile numbers after the registration is done. After the registration is done, candidates can fill out the SSC Online Application Form. After filling out an online application, application fees also need to be paid online. Candidates can download admit cards for the exam as well as for the skill test/ typing test using that registration id and password. SSC Exam Pattern – Selection Process

Generally, the SSC Exams are conducted into two to three Tiers depending on the nature of the exam. SSC Exams can be both objective and descriptive in nature. Skill Test/ Computer Proficiency Test/ Typing Test/ Physical Efficiency Test can also be conducted for some posts. The merit list of the selected candidates is prepared on the basis of marks obtained in all the Tiers.
