Himanta Biswa Sarma re-elected as BAI President

Himanta Biswa Sarma, the current president of the Badminton Association of India (BAI), was re-elected for a second term of four years from 2022 to 2026 – during its General Body Meeting in Guwahati on 25th March 2022. He was elected as BAI’s President for the first time in the year 2017.

The current Chief Minister (CM) of the State of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma is also a Badminton Asia vice president and a member of the Badminton World Federation Executive Council.

Badminton Association of India

Formed in 1934 and registered under the Society’s act, the Badminton Association of India is the governing body for Badminton in our Country. BAI has been holding national-level tournaments since 1936. The Association has 33 State Associations and 04 other organizations as its members that conduct Badminton tournaments.

This will play an important role in India’s road to becoming a badminton superpower in the upcoming years.
