NER Exams – NER Recruitment – New Job Notifications

North Eastern Railway conducts General Departmental Competitive Exam (GDCE) every year to recruit serving Railway employees of North Eastern Railways on various posts. The posts are Technician, Assistant Loco Pilot, Junior Engineer, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Sr. Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Station Master, Staff Nurse, Pharmacist and Health Inspector. All serving regular employees of divisions, units, workshops or headquarters of NER, of any cadre or department can apply for these posts.

NER GDC Exam – Eligibility Criteria

Technician III:- 10th + ITI in the trades of Welder/ Welder (Gas and Electric)/ Gas Cutter/ Structural Welder/ Welder (Pipe)/ Welder (TIG/MIG)/ Forger and Heat Treater/ Carpenter/ Furniture and Cabinet Maker/ Fitter/ Mechanic Diesel/ Mechanic (Repair and Maintenance of Heavy Vehicles)/ Mechanic Automobile (Advanced Diesel Engine)/ Mechanic Motor Vehicle/ Tractor Mechanic/ Electrician/ Electronics Mechanic/ Wireman OR 10th + Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in trades mentioned above OR 12th with Physics and Mathematics

Assistant Loco Pilot:- 10th + ITI in the trades of Armature and Coil Winder/ Electrician/ Electronics Mechanic/ Fitter/ Heat Engine/ Instrument Mechanic/ Machinist/ Mechanic Diesel/ Mechanic Motor Vehicle/ Millwright Maintenance Mechanic/ Mechanic Radio & TV/ Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Mechanic/ Tractor Mechanic/ Turner/ Wireman OR 10th + Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in trades mentioned above OR Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Automobile Engineering

Technician III:- Diploma in Engineering in Electrical/ Electronics Mechanic/ Microprocessor/ TV Engineering/ Fibre Optical Communication/ Telecommunication/ Communication/ Sound and TV Engineering/ Industrial Control/ Electronics Instrumentation/ Industrial Electronics/ Applied Electronics/ Digital Electronics/ Power Electronics/ Information Science/ Information Technology/ Computer Application/ Computer Engineering/ Computer Science/ Computer Technology OR B.Sc with Physics/ Computer Science/ Information Technology

Junior Engineer:- Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Production/ Automobile/ Instrumentation and Control/ Manufacturing/ Mechatronics/ Industrial/ Machining/ Tools and Machining/ Tools and Die Making Engineering

Commercial cum Ticket Clerk:- 12th

Sr. Commercial cum Ticket Clerk:- Degree

Station Master:- Degree

Pharmacist:- 12th with Science and D.Pharma/ B.Pharma and registered as Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act 1948

Health Inspector:- B.Sc with Chemistry as Main/ optional subject in any branch of Chemistry + Diploma of Sanitary/ Health Inspector OR NTC in Health Sanitary Inspector

Application Process for GDCE – Apply Online

Candidates can apply for the General Departmental Competitive Exam through online mode only. Filling Employee No. is mandatory in the online application form. Candidates can apply for more than one post. They must indicate their preferences of posts in the online application form. A colored photograph needs to be uploaded by the candidates as per the specified format. During the online application submission, a Registration Number will be issued. Candidates are requested to preserve this no. for future references. Keep checking Admit Cards Page to download the admit card for NER GDCE.

NER GDC Exam Pattern – Selection Procedure – Latest Updates

The recruitment process will consist of a Computer-Based Test/ Written Exam, Document Verification and Medical Exam. CBT/ Written Exam will have Objective Type Questions. There will be negative marking. 1/3 of the marks allotted to the question shall be deducted for each wrong answer. At the time of document verification, the candidates will have to produce original certificates. Candidates can check their results at the Sarkari Results page as soon as they are released.
