Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education conducts Teacher Eligibility Test twice a year for various Teaching categories. The categories are TGT (Arts), TGT(NM), TGT (Medical), Shastri, Language Teacher, JBT, Punjabi and Urdu. The test is conducted in June and November months. Clearing this test will award you a certificate using which you can apply for Teacher Jobs in various government schools of Himachal Pradesh.
The certificate will remain valid for an appointment for 7 years from the date of issuance. Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test – HPTET – Eligibility
The educational qualification required for Himachal Pradesh TET differs from category to category. Let’s have a look at brief eligibility criteria for HPTET.
TGT (Arts):- B.A/ B.Com with B.Ed/ B.Ed (Special Education) OR Senior Secondary with B.El.Ed/ B.A.Ed
TGT (Non-Medical):- B.Sc (NM) with B.Ed/ B.Ed (Special Education) OR Senior Secondary with B.El.Ed/ B.Sc.(NM)Ed
TGT (Medical):- B.Sc (Medical) with B.Ed/ B.Ed (Special Education) OR Senior Secondary with B.El.Ed/ B.Sc.(Medical)Ed
Shastri:- Shastri with at least 50% marks
Language Teacher:- B.A with Hindi as an elective subject and D.El.Ed/ B.Ed/ B.Ed (Special Education) OR Prabhakar followed by B.A (English and one additional subject) and B.Ed OR M.A (Hindi) and B.Ed
Junior Basic Training (JBT):- 12th and JBT certificate course/ D.El.Ed/ B.El.Ed/ D.El.Ed (Special Education) OR Graduation and D.El.Ed
Punjabi Language Teacher:- Giani followed by B.A (English and one additional subject) and B.Ed OR B.A with Punjabi as an elective subject and D.El.Ed/ B.Ed/ B.Ed (Special Education) OR M.A (Punjabi) and B.Ed
Urdu Language Teacher:- B.A with Urdu as an elective subject and D.El.Ed/ B.Ed/ B.Ed (Special Education) OR B.T. followed by B.A (English and one additional subject) and B.Ed OR M.A (Urdu) and B.Ed
Application Process for HPTET – Apply Online
Candidates can register for the HPTET through online mode only. After registration, the candidates will get an Online Application No. Using this no., they will have to sign-in and complete the application process. They will be required to upload a scanned photograph and signature as per the format given in the respective advertisement. Application Fees also need to be paid online. Candidates are requested to note down the Online Application No. for future references. If the candidates want to appear in TET for more than one teaching category, then they will have to submit a separate online application and fee for each category. HPTET Pattern – Selection Procedure – Latest Updates
Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligible Test will consist of only one question paper having multiple-choice questions. A total of 150 questions will be there, each of one mark. 150 minutes will be given to the candidates for attempting the test. There shall be no negative marking. The exam will be OMR based. Candidates can check their results at the HPBOSE Results page as soon as they are released.
