UP Police Constable – UP SI Vacancy

For entry as a UP Police Constable, the candidate must be between the age limit of 18-22 years (upper age relaxation in case of SC/ST/OBC) and should be at least 12 class pass. The selection process includes 4 stages viz. Preliminary Written Exam, Physical Efficiency Test, Main Written and Medical Exam. The preliminary exam is of 300 marks and includes questions on General Knowledge, Reasoning Ability and Numerical Ability of 150, 75 and 75 marks respectively. The main written exam is of 350 marks and includes questions on Mental Ability, General Awareness, Comprehension and Reasoning of 75, 100, 50 and 75 marks respectively.

For entry as a Sub-Inspector, the candidate must be between 21-25 years (upper age relaxation in case of SC/ST/OBC) and should possess a degree from a recognized institute/university with an aggregate of minimum 50%. The selection process includes 5 stages viz. Physical Standard Test, Preliminary Written Exam, Physical Efficiency Test, Main Written Exam and Group Discussion. The main written exam involves 4 papers, each of 100 marks and including 120 questions. These papers are Law and Constitution, General Hindi/ Hindi Essay, Mental Aptitude Test/ Intelligence Quotient Test/ Test of Reasoning Numerical & Mental Ability Test.

Besides these requirements, the candidates should be an Indian and also be able to meet all the physical standards laid down as necessary by the recruitment board for the selection. The candidates who successfully qualify through all these stages are appointed to the posts in various cities. The aspiring candidates can also take the Civil Services Exam and the Indian Police Service Limited Competitive Examination to be recruited for the various IPS officer posts in the Indian Police.
