Established under the West Bengal Act XXVI of 2007 on 19th February 2008, The University of Gour Banga, a State Aided University was set up in the backward region of Malda, West Bengal to cater to the academic needs of the population of the three border districts of North Dinajpur, South Dinajpur and Malda.
