Headed by Director General of Police and known as Commissioner of Security (Civil Aviation), BCAS is the regulatory body responsible for coordination, monitoring, inspecting civil aviation security matters. The prime responsibility of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security is to pen down norms for the security of civil flights at local and international airports of India. It keeps an eye and implements security measures to carry out a survey of security requirements by performing dummy checks to test the alertness of security staff. The agency has 4 regional centers located in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata.
