UPSC ESE 2020 Eligibility Criteria, Exam Pattern and Syllabus

First of all, the candidate must be either a citizen of India or Nepal or Bhutan or Tibetan Refugee. The candidates having age between 21 to 30 are eligible to apply for the exam. Age relaxation will be given to the candidates as per the government rules.

UPSC ESE 2020 Exam Pattern
Before starting preparation for the exam, you must understand and familiarize yourself with the latest UPSC ESE pattern and syllabus. The Commission will conduct the exam in three stages namely Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and Personality Test. The detailed exam pattern is given below:-

There will be negative marking of 1/3rd of the wrong answer. Candidates qualified in the Prelims Exam will be eligible to appear in the Main Exam.

UPSC Engineering Services Personality Test 2020:- Candidates who obtain minimum qualifying marks in UPSC ESE Preliminary Exam and UPSC ESE Main Exam will be called for Personality Test. In this test, special attention will be paid to assessing the candidate’s capacity for leadership, initiative and intellectual curiosity, tact and other social qualities, mental and physical energy, powers of practical application and integrity of character.

UPSC Engineering Services Exam Admit Card
Appearing candidates can download the admit card for the UPSC ESE 2020 through the UPSC Admit Cards Page by entering registration ID/ roll number and date of birth. The commission will release admit card for the exam in mid-December.
