Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification for Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination 2022. The UPSC ESE is conducted for recruitment to the various services/ posts under the following categories:-
- Civil Engineering.
- Mechanical Engineering.
- Electrical Engineering.
- Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.

UPSC ESE 2022 Eligibility Criteria, Exam Pattern and Syllabus
After knowing the exam date you all might be thinking about the eligibility criteria for this exam. You might be wondering what would be the age limit for appearing in this paper? What is the required qualification? Aspiring candidates who are going to apply for UPSC ESE Preliminary 2022 can check the detailed eligibility criteria here.
First of all, the candidate must be either a citizen of India or Nepal or Bhutan or a Tibetan Refugee. The candidates having age between 21 to 30 are eligible to apply for the exam. Age relaxation will be given to the candidates as per the government rules.

| Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London |
| Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London held after November 1959. |
| For Indian Naval Armament Service (Electronics Engg. Posts):- M.Sc. Degree or it is equivalent with Wireless Communication Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject. |
| For Indian Radio Regulatory Service Group-A:- M.Sc. Degree or it is equivalent with Wireless Communication Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a subject or Masters Degree in Science with Physics and Radio Communication or Electronics or Telecommunication as a special subject. |
UPSC ESE 2022 Exam Pattern
Before starting preparation for the exam, you must understand and familiarize yourself with the latest UPSC ESE Preliminary pattern and syllabus. The Commission will conduct the exam in three stages namely Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and Personality Test. The detailed exam pattern is given below:-

There will be a negative marking of 1/3rd of the wrong answer. Candidates qualified in the Prelims Exam will be eligible to appear in the Main Exam.

UPSC Engineering Services Personality Test 2022:- Candidates who obtain minimum qualifying marks in UPSC ESE Preliminary Exam and UPSC ESE Main Exam will be called for Personality Test. In this test, special attention will be paid to assessing the candidate’s capacity for leadership, initiative and intellectual curiosity, tact and other social qualities, mental and physical energy, powers of practical application and integrity of character.

UPSC Engineering Services Exam Admit Card
Appearing candidates can download the admit card for the UPSC ESE 2022 through the UPSC Admit Cards Page by entering registration ID/ roll number and date of birth. The commission will release admit card for the exam in mid-December.
