WBTET Exam to be Conducted after Finding Exact Number of Vacancies

Contenders who wish to qualify the West Bengal Teachers Eligibility Test or WBTET will have to wait now. The West Bengal government will take a call on conducting primary Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET) after finding the exact number of vacancies in state-run and state-aided primary schools, state Education minister Partha Chatterjee said. Besides, the minister also said that the student-teacher ratio in every primary school would be examined.

As per the reports, further Chatterjee quoted that “After calculating these figures, we will arrive at the actual vacancy figure (in primary schools) and conduct the TET examination accordingly.”

West Bengal Teacher Eligibility Test (WBTET) is conducted by the Government of West Bengal for candidates wish to become teachers in primary (Class I-V) and upper primary (Class VI-VIII) schools in the state of West Bengal. West Bengal TET will be conducted as per National Council for Teachers Education (NCTE) guidelines.

WB TET 2018 Eligibility Criteria
To appear for the TET examination, candidates must complete a two-year teacher training program or secure at least 50 percent in the Higher Secondary Examination.

The notification, when it will be released, will be made available on the official websites like www.wbbpe.org, www.wbsed.gov.in. The WBTET online registration will also be undertaken on these websites.
