Indian Air Force AFCAT Eligibility, Exam Pattern and Syllabus

Educational Qualification
Flying Branch(a) Minimum of 50% marks each in Maths & Physics at 10+2 level.
(b) Graduates (Three Year Course) in any discipline from a recognised University who have attained a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent OR B.E/B.Tech (Four Year Course) from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
(c) Cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
Ground Duty (Non-technical) Branch(a) Administration and Logistics:- Passed 10+2 and Graduate Degree (Minimum three years degree course) in any discipline from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent or cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
(b) Accounts Branch:- Passed 10+2 and done graduation in any of the following streams with 60 % marks or equivalent from a recognized university:-
(aa) B. Com Degree (Min three years course).
(ab) Bachelor of Business Administration (with specialization in Finance)/ Bachelor of Management Studies (with specialization in Finance)/ Bachelor of Business Studies (with specialization in Finance)
(ac) Qualified CA/ CMA/ CS/ CFA.
(ad) B.Sc. with specialization in Finance.
Ground Duty (Technical) Branch(a) Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) (AE (L)):- Candidates with a minimum of 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of four years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/ Technology from recognized University OR cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in the following disciplines:-

IAF AFCAT 2022 Exam Pattern

Before starting preparation for the exam, you must understand and familiarize yourself with the latest Indian Air Force AFCAT pattern and syllabus. The Commission will conduct the exam in three stages namely Written examination, SSB Test and Medical Exam. The detailed exam pattern is given below:-

Written Exam Pattern:-The AFCAT Objective Type Question Paper will have 100 questions and the duration is 2 hours. This Exam contains General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability, Reasoning and Military Aptitude. The EKT Question Paper will have 50 questions and the duration is 45 minutes.

AFSB Interview:- AFSB interview stands for Air Force Selection Board Interview. AFSB interview is divided into two stages:-
Stage-I:-
(i) Officer Intelligence rating Test.
(ii) Picture perception and Discussion Test.
Stage-II:-
(i) Psychological Tests
(ii) Group Tests (interactive indoor and outdoor activities)
(iii) Interview (Personal conversation)

Medical Exam:- Merit List is compiled on the basis of your performance in the written test and AFSB interview, subject to being medically fit.

IAF AFCAT Admit Card 2022

Appearing candidates can download the admit card for the Indian Air Force AFCAT 2022 through the IAF Admit Cards Page by entering registration id/ roll number and date of birth. The commission will release admit card for the exam in mid-March.
