Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology took its birth on 24th August 1962 through the Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology Act, 1961. OUAT came into operation from 1st February 1963 when the two Govt. managed colleges, the Utkal Krushi Mahavidyalaya and the Orissa College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry with their staff were transferred to the University. The University has separate wings for research, extension services and planning, monitoring & evaluation etc.
