One of the five Central Armed Police Forces, Border Security Force, shortly known as BSF is primary a Border Guarding Force of India. Formed in 1965, it is fully under the administrative control of Ministry of Home Affairs and has 257,025 personnel strength which includes an expanding air wing, commando units, marine wing and artillery regiments.
